We have some absolutely fabulous art around school, our chosen theme was simply 'Winter Art' and isn't it wonderful.
We were fortunate enough to get a visit from our OPAL mentor, Rachel, this week. She is helping with our OPAL journey and providing feedback during her visits.
On Monday, she saw some fabulous play across all year groups and was very positive about OPAL at Dunalley.
We do have some areas to enhance further in order to fulfill the intentions of the whole OPAL experience. Once again we would ask our famiies and the local community to help where they can.
We really need items of large loose parts such as:
Suitcases
Barrels
Tractor tyres
Planks of wood
Prams & pushchairs
Large Duplo
Matilda The Musical - At Pittville School
Year 5 and 6 were treated to a spectacular performance of 'Matilda, The Musical Jnr' put on by the students at Pittville School. Our children came away inspired by the fantastic singing, dancing and acting skills on display. It was particularly moving to see some of the old Dunalley students taking to the stage. Well done!
Reception have been embracing the outdoors and keeping warm in frosty surroundings this week. We started the week with a log fire, hot chocolate and camp fire songs. This was followed up with a cafe role play indoors. We then explored our fantastic grounds observing the winter changes.

The children enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch today. There were some fabulous table decorations on show, made during our winter art week, and the children joined in with some very festive singing.
Thank you so very much to our wonderful lunchtime team for preparing and serving a very tasty meal.
Nursery & Pre-school have had a great end to the week with Christmas dinner and some party games and lots and lots of glitter! We think the excitement for Christmas is building with lots of Christmas stories and songs and lots of talk about their mischievous elves at home.
