Inspection of Dunalley Primary School

I am writing on behalf of His Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills to confirm that a graded inspection of Dunalley Primary School under section 5 of the Education Act 2005 (as amended), will take place on 17 January 2023 to 18 January 2023.

I will be leading the inspection and will be accompanied by two inspectors.

Inspectors always seek to meet those responsible for governance during inspection. This includes governors of maintained schools, proprietors of independent schools, academy trustees and sponsors, and members of the school's local board. I would like to meet the chair of the governing body and as many governors as possible during the inspection and invite all governors to be present at the final feedback meeting. The clerk to governors or the board (or equivalent), or their delegate, may also attend to take notes. I have spoken to the headteacher about making these arrangements. In addition, I want to invite those responsible for governance to contact me directly, either in person or by telephone, if there is anything about the school or the work of governors that you would like to discuss during the inspection.

As with the meetings between inspectors and pupils, parents and staff, any meetings with those responsible for governance will take place without the headteacher or senior staff present, except the final feedback meeting.
