Potential Teacher Industrial Action
Monday 23rd January 2023
Dear Families,
Potential Teacher Industrial Action
You may be aware that the National Education Union (NEU) has announced that their members have voted in favour of industrial action. Members of the NEU in our region are therefore likely to strike on the following days:
- Wednesday 1st February
- Thursday 2nd March
- Wednesday 15th March
- Thursday 16th March
In response to this, schools across the country are making contingency plans in line with guidance from the Department of Education. Please be aware that each school will be impacted differently by the strike action given the differing number of teachers belonging the NEU in each setting, and the individual choices members make. These variables will determine whether schools will be able to operate normally on strike days or be forced to close or partially close to children.
In line with government guidance, we will do everything possible to minimise disruption in the coming weeks and take all reasonable steps to keep our school open for as many children as possible.
Please be assured that I will let you know about any changes to the usual functioning of the school at the earliest opportunity and update you in the coming days regarding the industrial action that is scheduled for Wednesday 1st February.
Yours truly,
Alison Godfrey
Headteacher
