New Starters - Head Teacher Welcome
April 2023
Dear Families,
We are delighted to be welcoming your family to Dunalley in September and look forward to working with you to ensure that your children enjoy school and flourish in all areas of their development. To make the transition to school as smooth and successful as possible, we will be hosting a number of welcome events later this term. We very much hope that you will be able to join us.
Coronation Celebration – Friday 5th May at 3.30 pm
You are invited with your family to join us to mark this national event. Please bring a picnic, rug and, if you'd like to, wear Red, White & Blue.
Welcome ‘Tea Party’ – Friday 23rd June at 2pm
This will provide you with an opportunity to meet with our early years team and school leaders, we will also share practical information about starting school and discuss the ways in which we can work together to make the experience as positive as possible for your children.
AiP, our catering provider will be at hand to offer a taster session of the lunches provided for the children.
Stay and Play Sessions - Tuesday July 4th and Monday July 10th from 2pm to 2.45pm
In addition to the welcome tea party, we would like to invite you and your child into school to enjoy ‘stay and play sessions’ with the EYFS teachers.
These sessions will be held on our front field and further information will be provided for families nearer the time.
Summer Festival – Saturday 8th July 11am – 3pm
Families are welcome to join the PTFA’s of local schools at Pittville School for a family event to raise money for the schools involved.
Starting school – Part time/Full time
We realise the importance of knowing school term dates as soon as possible and are pleased to be able to inform you now about the part time/full time schedule for your children in starting in September.
New Reception children will start PART TIME ONLY Tuesday 5th September to Friday 8th September, if the children are ready to attend school on a full time basis they will do so on Monday 11th September. Exact times and more detailed information for morning or afternoon sessions will be provided later this term.
What to do now
You may like to access our website so that you can start to familiarise yourself with our school. The ‘Reception Starters’ tab, will be of particular interest and where you will find a link to specific information, also available here, about starting with us in September 2023.
At the beginning of June you will be sent log in details to Edulink One which is our new communication software and where you will submit admission data for your child’s school record. It is imperative that you complete this in full and accurately when asked as it will provide us with important information required.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected] if there is anything that you would like to discuss on an individual basis, we will be very happy to do so this term.
Yours truly,
Alison Godfrey
