Year two have had quite a week! They just popped out to Forest School to look for some interesting objects to inspire their writing and unbelievably, found two extraordinary eggs! One was nestled in branches on a tree and the other was found on the ground in a kind of nest. The excitement and intrigue in the Year 2 end of school has been palpable. The children are waiting with baited breath to see what might happen to these wonderful eggs...
In the meantime, the eggs really have inspired some fantastic writing.
WHAT A FIND! Lucky Year 2!
Our caterers are serving an All Day Breakfast next Thursday, please see the menu flier below.
The usual choice will not be available but this option looks delicious, it's also quite nice to have a change.
Look out for our Pizza party coming soon!
We are all thrilled that the weather is becoming warmer and that the sun makes an appearance but please ensure your child applies suncream before they come into school and brings a named sunhat with them.
We are excited to celebrate Being Healthy the weeks of 3rd and 10th July. This is part of our PSHE curriculum but encompasses much more. During the fortnight we will have:
KS2 sports day – 11th July
KS1 sports day – 13th July
Our catering team will be putting on healthy eating events for children including the Smoothie Bike!
We would like to ask if any parents would like to lead a group activity at lunchtime (between 11.45-12.45) on any day during the fortnight to please get in touch with Mr Price. Maybe a yoga session on the field or basketball on the courts – anything healthy and fun that you are passionate about would be welcomed! Let’s support Healthy body, healthy minds, healthy relationships together.
PTFA Cake Sale - Thursday 22nd June
We are pleased to be hosting a summer cake sale on Thursday 22nd June. This will be held in the playground at school pick up in the afternoon. PTFA Colour Run - Saturday 16th September 2023
The PTFA is looking to cover some of the costs of the colour run through corporate sponsorship. Do you run your own business or do you work for a company who would be willing to be a sponsor of our colour run? Our corporate sponsorship packages cost £100 and in return for your generous support we will include your organisation's logo on our colour run banner. Your business details will also be shared on our social media pages and in the school newsletter. This is a great way for local businesses to support our school community events. If you'd like to take one of the packages or would like some more information, please email [email protected] and one of the PTFA team will be in touch.
Thank you.
You may be aware that there are plans for a new cycle-way scheme from the A435 Cheltenham to Bishops Cleeve, details of the scheme can be found via this link:
www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/highways/a435cycleway
Representatives from Gloucestershire County Council came into school earlier this week to discuss the scheme and address any concerns we would have, particularly regarding the changes to the area immediately surrounding us.
During our meeting we asked for the council to seriously consider the safety of our school community and stressed the need for additional and appropriate safety measures including safer crossing areas and the creation of a well signposted school safety zone.
There is a Gloucestershire County Council consultation form which is open until June 28th, families are encouraged to add any comments.
We will update our families if we hear anything further.
