REMINDER: Tea n' Chat - Friday 20th October from 2.30pm
We hope that you can join us for Tea n' Chat next Friday. Alison Godfrey, Sam Ashton and Phoebe Wilcox will be hosting this event in the hall alongside members of the PTFA who will be offering refreshments.
This informal community event aims to give families an opportunity to get to know one another better and catch up. School staff are looking forward to joining families and will be happy to answer questions about school life. Please fill in this brief survey if you are able to pop in - this will help us to organise seating and refreshments.
On Thursday 26th October we are inviting families to another OPAL Stay and Play event.
The children can be collected from school at their usual time and can stay on site to play with their families and friends until 4.30pm.
They will be able to share their OPAL experiences with you.
Please note there is NO LATES on this date.
Nursery & Pre-school have had a busy autumnal week. We have been making apple crumbles, with the children using the peeling machine and making the crumble mix (developing their fine motor skills in the process). In Forest School we went on a worm hunt. We then measured and compared the length to see who had found the longest and the shortest (developing our mathematical skills). Some children have been enjoying DidiRugby with Coach Keith (developing their listening skills, spatial awareness and learning some basic ball skills). We continue to build friendships and enjoy our time in Nursery & Pre-school.

Great Fire of London Day - Year 2
On Monday, Year 2 were transported back in time to the 2nd September, 1666!
We had the most amazing day learning all about what London was like before and during the time of The Great Fire. We had so many jobs to do in London, for example, making leather bookmarks at the tanners, making bread at the baker, weaving, making charms at the potters to scare off the plague, shooting pigeons that were on fire and catching plague ridden rats - to name just a few! In the afternoon we became archaeologists. We are grateful to 'Those History People' for organising and leading such a fantastic day.
Thank you also to our parent helpers who entered into the spirit of the day brilliantly, we wouldn't have had such a successful day without you.
As you know, we are a 'Platinum OPAL School' who offer a fabulous lunchtime opportunity for our children.
If you have any of the following items, please can you donate them to school to help maintain our stock of play items. Many thanks.
We would like:
- washing up liquid/bubble mix
- large sponges
- steering wheels
- crates
- suitcases
- chalks
- small vehicles
- plastic garden trowels
- mixing bowls
- balls - volleyballs, netballs and tennis balls
- yoga balls

Dear Parent or Carer,
Screening vision and measuring the healthy growth of children
Each year in England, school children in Reception and Year 6 have their height and weight checked at school as part of the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP). Height and weight measurements are used to better understand the healthy growth of your child. We collect this information because it is in the interest of public health to understand how many children are living with a healthy weight or are above or below a healthy weight.
Your Head Teacher has agreed that this will happen in your child’s school, you can contact your school to find out when we will be visiting. If a high volume of children are absent on the date of our visit, we may need to make another unplanned visit so please complete the opt out form if you do not wish for your child to be included in any NCMP measurements.
Please note, children will not be made to take part on the day if they do not want to.
