Christmas Celebration at St Paul's Church - 9.30am on Thursday 21st December
We are delighted to confirm that we will be holding a Christmas celebration in St Paul's Church on the morning of Thursday 21st December. All year groups will be registered in school as usual before walking to the church for an event that will start at approximately 9.30am. If you are free at this time, you are most welcome to meet us at the church and join the celebration.
Christmas Jumpers can be worn during the final two weeks of term, from Monday 11th December. This is optional.
Our Christmas jumper swap is now open. In order to avoid unnecessary expense, we encourage families who would like to switch to Christmas jumpers to bring any unwanted jumpers to the main reception and swap them for a larger size.
We are looking forward to decorating our Christmas tree next week. Can you help? In assembly this morning we invited all children to make decorations that will hang from the branches. If you have the time and inclination, we'd love to enjoy your creativity.
Thank you to all the Year 2 families who joined us for our DT afternoon on Thursday. The children made beautiful poppies and it was brilliant to see everyone joining in and having fun. Thank you for your feedback; we look forward to organising more family events next term.
Christmas Event - Saturday 9th December
WINTER FAIR 18/12/23
We are in need of more volunteers to help us run this event for children and families, please contact us if you can spare 30 minutes to help. [email protected]
MATHS WEEK
Dunalley celebrated Maths week in November which saw great engagement from the children. A local maths specialist volunteered his time to work with children from across the school to solve a range of puzzles. The PTFA have donated £100 towards his local charity as a show of our gratitude for these wonderful engagement activities.
MOVIE NIGHT 12/12/23
Our movie night is now SOLD OUT!!! We plan to arrange another one next year for those that have missed out this time.
CAKE SALE 14/12/23
WINTER WONDERLAND theme cakes and bakes sale on Thursday 14th December, after school in the playground. Please bring all NUT FREE cake donations in on the day and cash for purchases.
Email [email protected] to volunteer.
WINTER RAFFLE
Don’t forget to purchase your raffle tickets to win a family stay at Bodlondeb Cottage in Snowdonia, Cheltenham Race tickets and afternoon tea at Ellenborough Park and many more! More tickets are available from the office, £1 per ticket.
We are able to facilitate the early collection of children, with notice, if they need to attend an event or appointment before 5pm as members of the the admin team can manage this before their shift ends.
Collecting children between 5pm and 5.30pm is problematic given that the main office is not staffed between these times and Lates staff are busy looking after the children. Thank you for your understanding.

This Winter holiday period, Gloucestershire County Council will provide families in receipt of Free School Meals, who sign up to this offer, with vouchers to assist with food costs during the school holidays.
Applications for holiday FSM vouchers for December 2023 Winter holiday will be open from midday on the 28th November until midday on the 12th December.
Voucher emails will be sent from week commencing the 18th December.
The scheme is for children in reception to year 11 who receive Pupil Premium (benefits-related) free school meals and attend a school in Gloucestershire.
The Council are unable to consider college and sixth form students, nor children who receive infant free school meals (available to all children from reception to year 2) - they are not eligible for this scheme.
Families who have signed up previously do not need to re-register for December 2023 holiday vouchers - they will already have been included.
Families that have previously signed up will need to contact the council with any changes to circumstances (e.g. if the number of children eligible increases or decreases). To ensure we reach all those who are eligible, we are encouraging parents that have not previously signed up, to sign up as soon as they can.
To find out more about the scheme and to apply, parents can visit our FAQs | Gloucestershire County Council
Using vouchers – vouchers need to be used will only be awarded once the parent has registered for the scheme and cannot be backdated. Vouchers are valid for 6 months, although should be used in the holiday period in which they are awarded. If vouchers are not claimed and have expired, they cannot be re-issued. Vouchers not received should be queried via email to [email protected] by the end of the holiday period.
For any parents wishing to update details of an existing application, please ask them to email [email protected] so we can update their account, as details are not automatically updated.
