Year 6 have had an amazing day immersing themselves in World War II at STEAM, Swindon. They have experienced what life would have been like for an evacuee, felt the cramped and difficult conditions of an air raid shelter and the importance of the railways to the war effort. Lots of role play has been undertaken, particularly as the children discovered how the lives of women changed as a result of the war. It has been fantastic to see the links made between learning in the classroom and their experience today. Many interesting questions have been asked by the children with lots of laughs and smiles seen along the way.  

Thank you to the PTFA for organising a World Book Day costume swap. Given that we didn't have many customers, we will leave it to families to decide whether or not to send their child(ren) in costumes on Thursday 7th March. 

Please send you children into school wearing either their usual school uniform, or dressed as their favourite character or book.

We will have a larger celebration of reading, writing and our favourite authors later in the year during our annual Dunalley Literature Festival.

Mrs Ashton (Family and Child Support Worker) will not be in school for a while.  We look forward to welcoming her back to Dunalley after the Easter holidays.

Dunalley Diddies has got off to a flying start with s small group of mums and babies.

We provide a quiet room with some lovely baby toys, as well as tea/coffee and homemade cake!
The group is open to parents/carers of babies 0-1yrs old, on Wednesday afternoons, 1.45pm-3pm.

We do ask for a small donation of £1.00. For more information pop along and speak to Hannah Street in Nursery & Pre-school.

OPAL STAY & PLAY 22/03/24

If you are able, please join us at the next OPAL stay & play.  On the day there will be a few stalls including Krispy Kremes, Jazzy Jar Tombola, Teddy Tombola and Sri-Licious serving up a delicious menu.  We are also pleased to have performances from our dance club, Dunalley’s Got Talent and our show choir. We are pleased to share with you that we will be running another uniform sale on Friday 15th March alongside the Headteacher Tea & Chat, purchases will be made by donations as per the previous sale.
