Holiday free school meal vouchers
Gloucestershire County Council will provide families in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM), who sign up to this offer, with vouchers to assist with food costs during the school holidays.
The scheme is for children in reception to year 11 who receive Pupil Premium (income-related) free school meals and attend a school in Gloucestershire.
Families who have signed up to the scheme or who are already registered will be supported with food costs with vouchers for a value of £15 per eligible child per week, during the school holidays. Vouchers for both Easter and May holiday periods are being distributed week commencing 18 March. Families who have signed up will receive a total of £30 per eligible child, comprising of;1 week (£15) for Easter 2024 and 1 week (£15) for May 2024 half-term.
During 2024, there will be food and activity support available via the HAF programme (during Spring, Summer and Winter holiday periods). This is a separately funded scheme that provides the children who book and attend events with a meal. The HAF programme is not able distribute food vouchers. For more information on the HAF programme please visit their webpage here: Holiday activities and food programme (HAF) | Gloucestershire County Council
Parents who have signed up previously do not need to re-register, they will already have been included. To ensure we reach all those who are eligible, we are encouraging parents that have not previously signed up, to sign up as soon as they can.
Please note we check eligibility for the scheme by cross-referencing with the term-time free school meal register, so please make sure children are registered beforehand. If you are a new applicant/have never applied for Free School Meals, you can check eligibility and register on the Free School Meal webpage.
For any parents wishing to update details of an existing application, please email [email protected] so we can update your account, as this not an automatic process.
If you have signed up previously you do not need to re-register.
We are encouraging any parents not already signed up to do so as soon as they can by following the link on this page whilst applications are open.
When will the vouchers be sent out?
Voucher emails will be sent out week commencing 18 March 2024. Please check your junk/spam email folders during this period as sometimes the vouchers end up there.
If you have not received your vouchers by the 20 March 2024, please email [email protected].
We experience a high volume of queries during this time but aim to respond to all queries within two working days. If you have not had a response from us by then, please do get in contact again.
