Welcome to our September 2024 starters
It was lovely to see so many of our September 2024 families on Thursday afternoon at our welcome afternoon tea.
Mrs Godfrey presented information for starting at school in September and the families were treated to a child's view of school life when four current reception children shared their views.
Thank you to AiP, our caterers, for supplying homemade cakes and to our fabulous PTFA for serving refreshments.

IMPORTANT - FREE Holiday Activity and Food programme
The Holiday Activity and Food programme (HAF) will be returning this summer to provide you with exciting holiday fun for your family.
Scott Milne will be available in school next Thursday, 27th June from 8.30am - 9.30am to help families book into the programme. This is something very special to us at Dunalley. As bookings have not yet opened, please don't miss out on this fabulous opportunity for the summer holidays.
The Holiday Activity and Food Programme (HAF) is a Department for Education funded initiative to provide free activities and food for children in reception to year 11 who are eligible for pupil premium free school meals.
OPAL Stay and Play - June 22nd
Last week, on June 11th, we marked the first-ever International Day of Play, which has been declared by the United Nations General Assembly to champion and protect children's right to play.
Play opens up a whole world of possibilities. That’s why the United Nations General Assembly got together to adopt an annual International Day of Play (the 11th of June). This is because every child can reach their full potential with time, space and access to play.
It’s time to put play back on the agenda and at Dunalley we are so lucky to have our OPAL initiative for our children.
We would like to invite all of our families to join us for a morning of OPAL Play on Saturday 22nd June from 10am - 12pm.
This is an invitation to all families in our Dunalley community and gives everyone the opportunity to have some wholesome family fun playing with the children.

Congratulations to children from Years 2, 3 and 4 for attending the recent tennis festival at the East Gloucestershire Tennis centre.
Following their PE lessons it was great to see the children perform extremely well against a number of different local schools and we were incredibly proud of them.
We may have potential Wimbledon stars of the future!

Art and Craft club with Miss Underwood have been working hard for the last six weeks to create summer mobiles. We have used a range of techniques and materials to make watermelon, flip flips, ice creams and more! Here are some examples for you to see.
Last week, a small group of Year 3 and 4 children enjoyed a morning of golf challenges at Sheldon Golf Course.
They were incredible ambassadors for school, listening to instructions, setting their own personal goals and finishing the day with a Silver Medal (although the scoring suggested they should maybe have taken first place!).
Well done to Jack, Lucas, Henry, Georgia, Rory and Leo on a great result.
Andy Seed will be visiting 3A and 2SJ on the afternoon of 27th June and will be signing books after school - he had to postpone this part of his visit before half term.
We would like to remind our families about our Dunalley Pantry.
This facility aims to help families who are struggling with the cost of living crisis - we have a bank of products that are free to families in need.
Please contact Sam Ashton (our Family Support Worker) if you would like to use the pantry - she will be very happy to help. You can catch her at the beginning of the school day, call her on 01242 512391 (select option 2), or email [email protected].
We would be delighted to receive donations of the following:
- Toilet paper
- Bars of soap
- Washing powder/tablets
- Toothpaste
- Deodorant
- Rice
- Pasta
- Pasta Sauce
- Cereal bars
- Coffee
- Tinned veg
