School Council meetings are held after school on a Friday and finish at 4pm. We look forward to seeing the autumn term representatives next week.
We are pleased to announce that our school clubs will be starting next week and that every child who expressed an interest in a club was allocated at least one of their preferences.
If you requested clubs, please go to EduLink to see what your child has been allocated. Clicking on the club will allow you to see who is running it and what time it finishes.
Please let us know if your child no longer wants to attend a club - this will allow us to offer the space to someone else. We would like as many children as possible to benefit from our extra-curricular activities.
Nursery & Pre-school - Dunalley Dinkies
As our children progress through our school we are pleased to facilitate a range of visits and organise for visitors to come into school. The following table provides an insight into the range of opportunities and experiences that our children embrace during their Dunalley journey.
You will see that we use our school and local environments to provide opportunities to enhance our curriculum. This includes using our outdoor spaces for science learning, the local park for geography fieldwork, or local venues such as the Holst Museum for history learning as well as taking advantage of Cheltenham’s Literature and Science Festivals where possible.
As children progress through our school, they also benefit from a range of visits further afield. This may be to museums, the seaside for geography fieldwork or, the highlight of their time at Dunalley, their residential experience in year 6. The visits are carefully planned to enhance our curriculum and provide a breadth of opportunity and experience.
Our children also benefit from a range of visitors coming into school to share their passion and expertise. This may be through visiting authors, theatre groups and history workshops. We are always looking for opportunities to provide experiences free of charge and last year we had several science workshops at no cost to the school or families.
We are extremely grateful for the voluntary financial contributions that our families and PTFA make to sustain these experiences. We are appreciative of the fact that a number of our families elected to pay more last year in order to cover shortfalls. This prevented the cancellation of a number of trips.
We have been made aware of some misinformation being circulated on Parent/Carer WhatsApp groups and would like to assure parents that we do not inflate the cost of school trips in order to boost school funds. We divide the cost of the trip by the number of children in the year group. Please contact the school directly if you would like to discuss this further.

World Mental Health Day - Hello Yellow
Wear Yellow!
This year, schools, companies and communities across the UK are standing together on World Mental Health Day (Thursday 10th October) and brightening up the country by wearing yellow and fund raising for YoungMinds.
This year’s 'Hello Yellow' is about being loud and proud, as we all stand together to support young people’s mental health.
We are encouraging children and staff to wear yellow for the day and will provide buckets for donations. All proceeds will go to YoungMinds to support children.
