As part of our Health week, next week, we will be promoting health and wellbeing alongside learning about it in our PHSE and Computing lessons.
We would like to encourage all families to get involved, so your child’s class can tick off as many of the initiatives as possible. In particular, getting out and about and healthy with a walk, run or swim or trying something new at snack time – a fruit or vegetable you’ve not tried before – find something healthy and exciting!
And don’t forget sports day:
KS1 / Reception – Thursday 10th 10.00am
KS2 – Tuesday 8th 1.30pm
Organising Health Week takes a lot of hard work from all of our staff and the outcome is a great reflection of what we care about here at Dunalley.
Congratulations to Dunalley !!

Nursery & Pre-school Sports Day
This week Nursery & Pre-school children enjoyed their sports day.
It was lovely to see so many of our families enjoying the afternoon, the children were so proud showing off their skills to everyone.
Thank you so much for your support.

Year 4 were lucky enough to have Pitville Language Leaders join them this week for a French afternoon. The Language Leaders are Year 9 students working to achieve a qualification by teaching other children Modern Foreign Languages. The Year 4 children enjoyed sessions learning about subjects taught in school through interactive games of lotto, tic-tac-toe and written exercises.
It was exciting and engaging and the children had a fantastic time. We are welcoming a different group of Language Leaders next week to teach Year 5 Spanish.
Year 6 enjoyed a fantastic visit where they learned all about the nocturnal insects living right on their doorstep. Using a special UV lamp set up on the field overnight, the children were amazed by the wonderful array of moths they discovered.
Our Year Sixes also learned about the vital role these brilliant creatures play in our environment.
You can see the results of our survey below.
Greetings from Cheltenham and County Cycling Club!
We are a diverse and welcoming club who love riding all types of bikes. We firmly believe that bikes can help save the world. From the health benefits of keeping fit to reducing pollution, the humble bike is part of the solution.
We would like to help Dunalley Primary School set up a bike bus so that the children can cycle safely to school.
This would be a short 2 to 4 mile route on quieter roads or cycle paths, with 2 to 4 pick up points where the children will join the bike bus. Parents are welcome to join as well. The route would be reversed at home time.
We would help set this up and lead the rides initially, with a view to having parents volunteer to take over the running of the scheme.
Ideally, we’d start as early in the new school year as possible, and start them off on Fridays, or FRideDays if you prefer.
If you’re interested in this for your child, please could you reply to the form on Edulink, letting us know your postcode, the number of children that might attend, and whether you would be interested in riding as part of the bike bus.
Looking forward to your response,
C&CCC

For the safety of all our pupils and families, we ask that anyone riding a bicycle dismount before entering the school grounds. Unfortunately, there have been a couple of minor incidents where bicycles have collided with children.
We want to prevent any further accidents and ensure everyone stays safe.
Please walk your bicycle in and out of the school grounds. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
