Welcome back to the summer term
Our classes have been a buzz of activity this week as the children are all engaging in their new areas of learning for this term. Lots of classes are catching up on opportunities for practical science, all are starting new books to engage them in writing and reading as well as continuing to consolidate learning undertaken at home during the spring term. It has been a pleasure for the Senior Leadership Team to walk around the school during lesson times and see children focussed and engaging so positively with their learning.
This week we have had two exciting deliveries to school, firstly a range of new books to add to our libraries throughout school. These will support all areas of the curriculum as well as reading for pleasure and include a variety of non-fiction titles. We look forward to getting them out to the children to read very soon. Many thanks to Mr Wilson for selecting such an array of beautiful books. Secondly, our new set of benches for the outdoor areas have arrived and Mr Childs is busy putting them together, thanks to the efforts of the PTA and you all for the funding to provide these.

We are very pleased to announce that each video call can now involve up to 2 parents/guardians at different locations. One parent/guardian needs to make the booking and then click the 'Invite Parent/Guardian' button, next enter the email address of the other parent/guardian to send an invite that grants access to the call. The additional parent/guardian then clicks the link in the email to join the appointments. We hope that you will find this useful.

PARENTAL CONSULTATION – Relationships and Sex Education Policy
The government have recently updated their guidance relating to Relationships and Sex Education. In light of this we have developed our school policy. You can access the draft policy here. Before publishing it, we would really like your feedback as your views are really important to us. Having read the policy, please email your thoughts/comments to [email protected] and label your response RSE. The consultation will end on Friday 30th April, so please reply before then.
PARKING - outside school – please park safely. Do not park on double yellow lines.
Please can we remind all families, again, that it is really important to park safely and considerately outside our school. Please consider other road users and pedestrians and do not park on double yellow lines.
SUMMER TERM - DAYS TO WEAR PE KITS AND FOREST SCHOOL CLOTHING
Please look at this carefully as we have made some changes to the days when PE kits need to be worn.
On all other days, pupils should continue to wear their school uniform. Please remember that school is well-ventilated, layers may be needed. Trainers can continue to worn instead of school shoes as we will continue to take learning outside wherever possible.
NURSERY PROVISION FROM SEPTEMBER 2021
A survey has been sent out this morning to our current nursery families (who will still be at nursery in September) asking for preferred sessions in order for us to plan ahead. Please complete this survey as soon as possible but certainly by Wednesday 28th April. Families should also note the slight changes to the nursery session times.
We are very excited to announce that we are launching our very own Dunalley School App!
The app will be beneficial to the whole school and nursery community helping us communicate and provide information to our families. The app is linked to our website and will be accessible on Apple and Android devises. We also hope it will help us to streamline our services and reduce costs as we move away from our existing text service.
Later today you will receive an email (to the email address you provided to us) with details about the app and how to download it. Over the next few weeks we will share information via the app wherever possible.

Photos of Yr1 supporting Earth Day. We recycled newspaper to plant wildflower seed bombs in our forest school. We made posters to encourage others to look after our wonderful world.
