Dear Reception Families,
Reception Nativity
We are hoping that your children will be able to perform to a live audience in the church next week and appreciate that you will be looking forward to watching your children shine on stage. The number of positive Covid-19 cases in school is currently low enough for the performance to go ahead, but please be aware that we are awaiting the results of a number of PCR tests.
All being well, your children will bring home two tickets for the performance on Tuesday afternoon. As you know, we have a duty of care to all members of our community, and therefore need to make the event as COVID-safe as possible. The concern around the new omicron variant, and the government’s implementation of ‘Plan B’, highlights the importance of this.
In order to make this event as COVID-safe as possible, please –
- Do not attend the event if you have COVID-19 symptoms – book a PCR test and stay at home
- Take a lateral flow test before coming to make sure that you are not asymptomatic and unknowingly spreading COVID-19
- Maintain social distancing and wear a face covering when inside the church and throughout the performance.
Limiting the size of the audience will enable us to facilitate social distancing and reduce transmission. As has always been the case, we ask that pre-schoolers do not attend the performance as experience tells us that they often find it difficult to remain still and quiet and this disturbs the event and detracts from the performance.
If you have no alternative but to bring a pre-schooler to the performance, they will need to use one of your allocated tickets. In order to address the confusion that has apparently been circulating on WhatsApp, I can confirm that young babies, who are not yet able to crawl, do not need a ticket i.e. two adults can attend with a babe in arms. We ask that all families that need to bring children to the performance take seats at the back of the church so that they can easily be taken outside if they become unsettled.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
Yours truly,
Alison Godfrey
