Last Friday, we had a lovely day looking at maths across the school. The children were able to talk about how much they enjoyed maths and how our structure within lessons of 'do it, secure it and then deepen it' allows them to learn new maths and to get it, in their words, 'stuck in their brains'. The children were using maths language, applying their learning and their work in maths books showed they are being enabled to reason and problem solve. It was lovely to see the range of learning across the whole school and 'maths brains' working.
It has been so nice to enjoy some sunshine this week. As well as the endless fun in the sand pit the children have really enjoyed dressing up.
Year 2 children love to play shop, if anyone has a toy till (or real one) that would be great to have.
We are also keen for capes for dressing up, the older children are trying to squeeze into the small outfits and we think capes would be a great idea.
Clubs have now been allocated, texts have been sent out to inform you if your child has secured a place. Sorry if you have not recieved a text, which will mean you have not been successful this time.
Clubs start next week.
Dunalley Forest Tots - Their week
We welcomed some more familes to our Forest Tots session this week, it was lovely to see the children playing and sharing together.
The mud painting was popular and the children and their grown ups enjoyed hot choclate and Sue's homemade cake.
We are pleased to welcome Miss Mason and Miss Scarfe to our OPAL Play Partner and midday supervisor team.
They have both said how nice it is to see the children having such fun and to be involved in our OPAL iniative to improve our lunch times at Dunalley.
