Jubilee Picnic - 27th May from 2pm
Are you joining us to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II ?
We certainly hope you will.
Time
Celebrations will begin, at school on Friday May 27th from 2pm, (next week).
Families are invited to bring a picnic (picnic blanket or chairs too) and enjoy our school grounds. This is open to school and nursery & pre-school.
The school will stay open until 5pm.
Dress Code
We will have a red, white and blue dress code for the whole day, so please dress children in red, white and blue ready for school.
Homemade Crown Competition
There will be a homemade crown competition, which will be judged by Mrs Godfrey.
Any child can enter the competition, children can bring the crowns into school with them on Friday morning. Judging will be at 4pm.
We will have a cake competition too, Mrs Mace will be judging your homemade delights, cakes should be 'fit for a queen'. Anyone can enter the competition, (families, staff and children) just bring them along to the picnic, judging will be at 4pm.
(Nursery & Pre-school children have been informed about their afternoon plans separately).
Nursery & Pre-school - their week
We are looking forward to holding a 'Musical Celebration' concert at the end of term (the pandemic temporarily paused this annual event). We would like all of our musicians to have an opportunity to perform to an audience, either individually or in a group.
Healthy Snacks at school - NO nuts policy
No Nuts
We would like to remind families that we have a NO NUTS policy at Dunalley Primary School and in our Nursery and Pre-school. It is very important that we follow this rule as we do have children in our school with severe nut allergies.
Healthy Snacks
Reception and KS1 children receive free fruit at for break time and we like to encourage all children in KS2 – years 3-6 - to follow the same healthy eating habits during their breaks too. Please encourage your child to bring any of the following for break times:
- Cubes of cheese
- Fruit or veg
- Mini box or tub of plain dried fruit
- Savoury rice cakes or bread stick
If these can be placed in a re-usable, plastic box (named) then we can also do our bit for the planet. By not having items in wrappers or plastic bags we can minimise litter and prevent hazards for wildlife and Pippin our school dog who will try to eat wrappers and cling film if it is on the floor!
Following on from Pittville Park Incident email
Please be aware we have received reports of children being followed through Pittville Park at the end of the school day. Please be reassured we have put extra staff on duty at the end of the school day but we ask that you are vigilant also. We have not witnessed any suspicious behaviour at this time.
If you feel you or your child have been followed or witnessed suspicious behaviour please contact the police directly quoting incident number 112 20 05 22.
