Next week continues our healthy theme thanks to AIP who are providing a range of activities, including a smoothie bike, fruit tasting and sugar swap.
Our new Reception children were invited into school today and they found out which classes they would be in and what their part time sessions would look like.
We are now able to inform our families of who your child’s class teacher will be from September.
We have recently appointed a new member of staff to the Dunalley teaching team. Miss Parker will be joining us in September as a new member of staff and teaching Y4. Miss Parker is very much looking forward to working at Dunalley and will be visiting school to meet the children before the end of term.

Congratulations to everyone in KS2 who took part in our sports afternoon on Monday. Fortunately, the weather was ideal - not too hot or cold and no rain so we able to enjoy a range of sporting activities and sprints. Thanks to all of you who came to support.
Thank you to those families who joined us today. It was lovely to see so many children with their grown ups getting excited about starting school in September.
We are hoping that on Friday July 15th the children will be able to meet their teachers.
Summer Fete - July 15th 3pm - 5pm
We are busy getting things planned for our first Summer Fete in a few years. Alongside our own stalls (with your donations) if you know of anyone who would like to rent a table from us to sell their homemade crafts please ask them to contact [email protected].
We are delighted to announce that Cody Crew will be dancing at the fete at 4.15pm, thank you to them for offering the entertainment.
We are also fortunate to have the Yellow Book Company coming along with their fabulous collection of books for sale. They were here recently at our Book Fair and the feedback from families was that they wanted them to come back; value for money and quality books.
Our Year 6 children are currently writing persuasive letters to supermarkets asking for donations of items for our BBQ. The BBQ will be run by our catering company, AiP, with all proceeds coming to school.
We will also have a table offering a book swap, bring any books you have finished with and we will set up a table where you can grab a new one.
Donations please
We are now ready to start taking donations for our fete.
- Outdoor Plants
- Candles
- Bottles for our Bottle Tombola
- Homemade Cakes can be donated on the day please. These will be sold, and proceeds will go to school.
All donations should be taken to the school office, thank you in advance.
Reminder:
Lates will not be running on the 15th July due to the summer Fete.
Please ensure that ParentPay accounts are in credit for earlies/Lates and school lunches.
The office team do not have capacity to be continually chasing families to make payments. If accounts are not in credit you may find that Earlies and Lates or lunches will not be available. We are not able to use school funds to cover families debts.
Sorry for the stern tone, but it is really important.
Sadly, once again, we have had reports of inconsiderate parking during school drop off and pick up. Please can we remind you not to park over driveways, dropped kerbs or on corners.
Please let us all help each other to keep our children safe when coming to school.
Support over the summer holidays from the Children and Families hub
The Holiday Activity and Food Programme (HAF and HAP)
The HAF programme will be returning from 1 to 27 August covering 4 weeks of the summer holidays to provide families with enriching activities and nutritious food for families who receive benefits -related free school meals.

Household Support Fund
On 30 September 2021, the Government announced that a new Household Support Fund (HSF) would be available to Local Authorities to support those most in need during the winter, which has now been extended until 30 September 2022. The Government has provided funding to Gloucestershire County Council to support people who are struggling to:
- buy food
- pay energy and water bills
- cover other essential costs linked to energy and water and wider essentials (including sanitary products, warm clothing, soap, blankets, boiler service or repair, purchase of equipment including fridges, freezers, and ovens)
The application form for the Housing Support Fund can be found on the Gloucestershire County Council website here: https://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/health-and-social-care/gloucestershire-welfare-support-scheme/local-support-grant-find-out-more-and-apply/
The Household Support Fund is available until 30 September 2022.
We would really like to know if you are able to help us at school.
It may be that the company you work for offers matched funding or corporate responsibility initiatives. You may work or have contacts in supermarkets or charity shops willing to donate items to school. If you work in the building trade you would be a great help, don't worry, we won't call on you all the time, but every now and then we may need a little help or advice.
If you are ready to help that's great, please complete our survey here or email [email protected] with details of what you can offer.
