Year 5 and 6 Fun Swimming Gala – 6th July 2022 at Sandford Park Lido
On Wednesday morning a group of 16 boys and girls from Year 5 and 6 attended the Fun Swimming Gala at the Lido.
It was a lovely warm morning and the children were excited to go swimming! We walked over to the Lido to find 7 other schools also attending the Gala. All of the races were relays and each one had a different challenge! The children had to swim with inflatables across the width of the pool. We had a great morning and managed to come away with silver medals as we came 2nd overall! The group of children demonstrated excellent teamwork, great sportsmanship and remained enthusiastic and supportive throughout. Everyone had a fantastic morning and loved representing Team Dunalley!
Don't forget to log on to www.clickfoto.co.uk to order your photos.
Deadline for free delivery is 12/07/2022.
Please use the Personal Access Code handed to your child on the day of the photos.
Contact the school office if you have lost your Personal Access Code.
We are so pleased that we have two weeks of events at school, we ended the week today with a Smoothie Bike on site.
Children were able to produce delicious smoothies by bicycle.
The Big Skip Totaliser £252.67
Thank you so much for the donations for the Red Cross. We raised an amazing £252.67.
The children really enjoyed themselves.
Communication from school to home
Please remember that our preferred methods of communication to our parents/carers are:
- Newsletter
- Tapestry for EYFS (Nursery & pre-school and Reception classes)
- School App
We rarely do letters or use notice boards in school for regular updates. Please be sure to check the newsletter for important information and dates for your diaries.
If you use the school app you will be able to sync important dates to your own calendars.
Year 5 Trip - Ashmolean Museum
As part of their history learning about the Ancient Greeks, Year 5 visited the Ashmolean museum in Oxford. They had a lovely start, being part of an Ancient Greek workshop where they studied sporting statues, pottery, Greek weaponry and more. They even got to handle REAL ancient Greek artefacts including coins, parts of stone statues and arrow heads. After lunch, they had time in their groups to look around the rest of the museum. Having the previous term studied the Ancient Egyptians, they mainly stayed in the ancient Egyptian area to see all the gruesome mummies!

Additional copies are for families where those with Parental Responsibility live in different households.
One additional copy of your child(ren)s report can be requested to be sent out to one household.
To request an additional copy please email [email protected] with your child(ren)s name, class, parent name and address.
All other reports will be handed to the children to take home.
If your child has long hair, please make sure that it is tied up when they are at school. Doing so makes sure that it doesn't get in the way when they are playing and learning. Bunches and plaits also slow down the spread of nits.
Please be aware that we have headlice circulating in school.
Please check your child(ren) on at least a weekly basis and treat if required.
The NHS have some useful information about treatment and prevention which you can find HERE.
When at the chemist buying headlice treatment it is always worth asking the pharmacist about the NHS Minor Ailment Scheme, as you may be able to access the treatment for free.
