Update on LifeSavers
Unfortunately, on 14th September 2022 the Gloucester Credit Union [GCU] went into administration and stopped operating. LifeSavers worked in partnership with the GCU to bank your children's money safely for many years. For the time being, the LifeSavers programme at Dunalley has been paused until we can find another banking partner.
I know this is unsettling news for some but I want to reassure you that your child's money is protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme [FSCS] and many of you will have already received a cheque for the balance of your child's savings.
What if I haven't received a cheque?
- Cheques were posted out last week on behalf of the GCU and therefore it may still be making its way to you via Royal Mail.
- If you have moved house since opening your child's LifeSavers account and have not informed the LifeSavers team, the likelihood is that the cheque has been sent to your old address.
Please email [email protected] if you still haven't received your cheque by Friday 23rd September and we will investigate for you.
What if the cheque isn't for the right amount?
If you think your children's savings amount is incorrect, please email [email protected] and again, we can investigate for you. Please note - if your child has made a withdrawal virtually, the Dunalley Team are not made aware of these transactions, so this many explain any discrepancies with the amount in their passbooks.
What if my child has tried to save this term?
We hadn't started up LifeSavers for the new school year yet, but if your child has posted their savings and passbooks at school already, this will be returned to them via the school office.
As soon as we are able to relaunch the LifeSavers programme we will let you know and look forward to welcoming you all back to this incredibly important programme.
