Reception Classes visit the Library
Reception classes have been lucky enough to visit Cheltenham library this week. They all enjoyed storytime and each child was able to choose a book to bring back to school. Those children who didn’t already have library cards also signed up to become members. The children were wonderful Dunalley ambassadors, showed our school values and a real passion for reading and books.
NEU Strike - Thursday 3rd March
Please be aware that the National Education Union (NEU) have another strike planned for our region on Thursday 3rd March. We do not yet know how this will impact on our school. Whilst we will do our best to keep the school fully open to all children, please be aware that it could lead to a partial school closure. Please re read the following letter for more information.

Dear Parent or Carer,
Screening Vision and Measuring height and weight of children
Each year in England, school children in Reception and Year 6 have their height and weight checked at school as part of the National Child Measurement Programme. Height and weight measurements are used to calculate weight status. We collect this information because it is in the public interest to understand how many children are overweight, healthy weight or underweight. Your child’s class will take part in this year’s programme.
The checks are carried out by trained Health and Wellbeing Assistants who are part of the School Nursing Service. Children are measured fully clothed, except for their coats and shoes, in a private space away from other pupils. The results will not be visible to your child.
Withdrawing your child from the Programme
If you are happy for your child to have their vision screen and to be weighed and measured, and you are happy for your phone number to be shared with BeeZee Bodies you do not need to do anything.
If you do not want your child to take part in NCMP or Vision screen, please let us know by completing the online form here.
Alternatively please phone 0300 421 8225 within 2 weeks leaving a message clearly stating your child’s name, date of birth, address and the school they currently attend and whether you would like to opt your child out of NCMP or Vision screen.
If your child is already under professional care for their vision, it is important that you notify us using the online form or on the above number to prevent unnecessary referrals.
Children will not be made to take part on the day if they do not want to.

We are having a 'Stay and Play' for Pippin's 4th birthday on Saturday March the 25th fom 10.30- 12.30pm.
Further details will follow soon, but we wanted you to be able to get the date in your diary as soon as possible.
To celebrate World Book Day March 2nd 2023, we would like to invite all children and adults to dress up as their favourite book character and bring along the associated book. The outfits can be as simple or as ornate as people desire. If you are lacking inspiration, have a quick Google online as there are lots of ideas out there. Many outfits can be simply made with items you may already have in the house.
We will be undertaking lots of reading activities on the day!
