TOMORROW - OPAL Stay and Play - Saturday 20th April 10am - 12pm
We hope that you can join us for our OPAL Stay and Play tomorrow morning.
We look forward to welcoming you though our main school field gates for family fun from 10am.
We have invited Mr Whippy along and tea & coffee making facilities will also be available.
Thank you to our wonderful PTFA
We would like to thank our hard working and dedicated PTFA for their continued efforts with fundraising for our school.
They work tirelessly to enable Dunalley to have more opportunities, recognising that sadly, school budgets do not allow for the extra things that can make a school so special.
Please support our PTFA whenever you are able to - they are working exceptionally hard behind the scenes for the good of all of our children.
Dunalley Literature Festival - Wednesday 22nd – Friday 24th May
We are looking forward to celebrating Dunalley’s Literature Festival next week.
We have a range of authors, poets and illustrators including Andy Seed, Coral Rumble, Tracey Corderoy and Jane Porter running writing and creative workshops across the week. Tracey Corderoy, who will be working with Nursery, Reception and Year 1, will be selling and signing books after school on Wednesday 22nd, as will Coral Rumble who will be working with Year 4 and 5. Andy Seed, working with Year 2 and 3, will be signing books after school on the Thursday.
A Bedtime Stories and Parental Event will be held on Thursday 23rd May, where children can come and enjoy a bedtime story and snack between 6 and 6:45pm, dressed in pyjamas, whilst parents can enjoy refreshments in the hall, browsing school reading materials.
A book fair, run by The Yellow Lighted Book-shop, will take place after school on the Wednesday and Thursday of that week and during the Bedtime Stories event.
Maths University Trip - Year 2 & 3
They listened to a story read by one of the librarians and then looked around the library and chose a book to bring back to school.
The children behaved impeccably and were a pleasure to take.
Today's assembly was a celebration of OPAL. The children were fully engaged and interacted beautifully.
Our Positive Play Partners spoke confidently about the importance of their role.
Emilia & Olivia (6MV) discussed the importance of caring for the OPAL equipment and Mimi & Eva (4P) celebrated OPAL with a cheer-leading display.
The children were also reminded about the safety aspects of OPAL equipment and about having suitable footwear and clothing to fully appreciate the OPAL experience.

Year 3O are well in the lead, but there is still time....
DUNALLEY LITERATURE FESTIVAL
The PTFA team are supporting this year's literature festival with a £2,000 donation. The festival will see authors visiting the school and running workshops with the children which will help to instil a love of reading. More information on the week will follow shortly.
READY STEADY READ!
In support of the literature festival, we are inviting all of the children to take part in a sponsored reading challenge where the children will be sponsored for the amount of time they spend reading. All money raised will go towards books for our school and Usborne will give us additional free books based on the amount the children raise. Everyone will shortly receive a reading log and a sponsorship form.
CAKE SALE
Thank you to all our helpers and to everyone who provided us with an amazing selection of cakes. We raised an amazing £273.50.
FUNDRAISING
We are pleased to share with you that we have been able to support the school on the purchase of new laptops for use in the children's computing lessons, using £3,000 of the funds that we have raised this school year. If you would like to have a say in how PTFA funds are spent, you are welcome to join us at any PTFA meeting, or email your suggestions to [email protected].
If your child is being collected by someone different to usual, please send them into school with a short note for their teacher. It is the teacher and not the office that needs to know. Thank you for your help.
