The feedback we received from the visitors was overwhelmingly positive. As well as singing the praises of our tour guides, families commented on our fabulous indoor and outdoor learning environments and your enthused and engaged learners. Here a few of the comments that our visitors made as they left.
Wonderful feel to the school, friendly staff, great grounds! The tour guide was great, you have very special children.
We loved the ethos and general feel of the school. The children obviously love coming to school here!
Really impressed with the school. Lovely friendly feel and the tour guides were brilliant.
What a lovely school! The children are an absolute credit and talked highly of their school. The outdoor spaces are fantastic and the classrooms were calm - a lovely atmosphere. Thank you.
Thank you to everyone who came along to our Family Phonics morning on Thursday. Mrs Fisher welcomed families into school to learn more about how we teach children to read in the younger years.
Parents and carers were able to pop into lessons to experience teaching and learning in this crucial area of the curriculum.
Thank you to everyone who paused to leave feedback at the end of the event, it was clear that families really enjoyed the experience:
Thank you very much for this amazing opportunity to see them 'in action'. A lot to be learnt from. We'll keep doing the same at home.
The best thing about coming to Dunalley as a parent is to see what a happy place it is! We are beyond privileged to have such a awesome school. Thank you!
Our Reception/Year 1 outdoor space
We have revamped our Reception/Year 1 area. Thank you to Emily Van der Velde for taking the lead on this. The outdoor area is now full of stimulating opportunities for play and learning.
We are pleased and excited to have opened the applications and selected this year’s first Positive Play Partners. Having launched the initiative last year, children have been excited to be able to support our OPAL play, ensure children have role models to help resolve any issues and create new positive ideas and solutions during our play time.
The new PPPs will have a training session and mid-term meetings with the OPAL team and Mrs Byrne as they help ensure our happy and safe play experiences for all.
Congratulations to
Year 6 – Clara, Lyra, Elsie and Daniel
Year 5 – Natalie, Emilie, Abe and Emilis
Year 4 – Harrison, Lilac, Maddie and Eleanor
Year 3 – Millie, Daphney, Micah, Liv
Year 2 – Freddie, Layan, Dolly, Ozzy
Year 1 – Ludo, Ava, Monty, Evie Mae
As you know, the government updated their school attendance guidance materials last summer and we updated our school policy accordingly. The policy is available on our school website and via the link below.
In response to further GCC guidance, we need to change the way in which parents and carers request leave during term time.
Moving forward, instead of filling in a form via EduLink, please follow the link below to access the GCC form. You need to fill it in a return it to school.
Please be aware that absence from school will only be agreed in truly exceptional circumstances and that term time holidays cannot be authorised. The law expects schools to enforce penalties relating to unauthorised absence from school.
Are you able to help restock our Dunalley Pantry ?

We would be delighted to receive donations of the following if you are able:

Nursery & Pre-school - News and Updates
We are keen to give you as much notice as possible of family events as we know that many of you are juggling home and work commitments.
We are pleased to let you know that you will find the dates and times of family events for the rest of the academic year published in our school calendar.
The best way of accessing this is via your EduLink One app. Select Links and Communication and then School Calendar.
We are pleased to inform you that as from Monday (25th November) pasta will be back on the menu.
The guidance from the Food Standard Agency has changed.

Please bring your donations into the School Office from Monday 2nd December to Thursday 5th December. We would like to aim to donate 30 hampers from our school community. Please only donate the following items if you can.
A festive dessert – from Christmas cake to Christmas pud, Yule be adding a sweet treat to your shopping basket.
Tasty biscuits or mince pies – whether you are team mince pies or team choccy biscuits, these little treats are the perfect way to celebrate the festive season.
Chocolates – December may be the only time of year when chocolate for breakfast is acceptable! Share your favourites and add a box to your shopping trolley!
Savoury snacks – sometimes it’s nice to break up the sweetness with something savoury. Now where did we put that tube of Pringles…?
Hot drinks – like a hug in a mug, you can’t go wrong with a warming cup of hot chocolate, coffee or fancy tea.
(Only the items on this list will be included in our hampers. Any additional items donated will go to our Community Pantry. This year, we've updated the list based on feedback from our recipients to add a bit of Christmas sparkle and to make packing easier for our volunteers.
Food items donated need to be in date until 26 December. Out of date items cannot be accepted.)
