Last week the Year 5 children were lucky enough to get a 'behind the scenes' tour of the racecourse before the November meet at the weekend. After walking through the Hall of Fame, we were introduced to Daryl Jacob and Mick Fitzgerald, two jockeys who have between them won the Gold Cup and the Grand National.

We then tired ourselves out by walking the entire route of the racecourse! Finally, we joined Mick and Daryl at the Parade ring where we saw three race horses and had a question and answer session with the jockeys. Look out for us on the TV at some point this week, as both the BBC and ITV were filming. A very memorable day!
