Nursery and Pre-school

Welcome to Dunalley Nursery and Pre-school
Dunalley Primary School benefits fromits very ownnursery and pre-school, situated within the school. There are three purpose-built rooms, including a kitchen area and cloakrooms designed for young children. The children have access to a fantastic secure outside area which leads into our Forest School field and bike track, all surrounded by trees and a range of wildlife. We are able to build strong links with Reception as we share the outside space, with the children and staff exploring, investigating and interacting. This will create a smooth transition for children as they move from Nursery and Pre-School into Reception.
The Nursery and Pre-School, as part of the school community, have access to the school hall, playing field and adventure playground.

We understand that young children learn best through play and have designed the spaces so children have access to a range of high-quality toys and resources, that engage, stimulates and extends their learning, supported and guided by highly qualified and experienced Early Years teachers and practitioners.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, supported by the Development Matters, from Nursery right through to the end of Reception.  Through this we build a foundation that ignites children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.

The document ‘What to Expect When’ available here outlines the key areas of learning and development for parents and carers.

Dunalley Nursery and Pre-school welcomes children between 2 and 9 months up to the time they start school.

The nursery and pre-school day runs from 9am through to 3pm

Children aged 3 years old can come all day or can do mornings or afternoon sessions.
